In March 2025, the crude steel production of the 69 countries/regions included in the World Steel Association statistics reached 166.1 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.9%.
Crude Steel Production by Region
In March 2025, Africa produced 1.9 million tons of crude steel, up 0.6% year-on-year. Asia and Oceania’s output reached 123.6 million tons, a 3.9% increase. The EU (27 countries) produced 11.7 million tons, up 0.2%, while other European nations recorded 3.6 million tons, down 7.2%.
The Middle East’s output stood at 5.3 million tons, rising 1.9%, while North America produced 9.2 million tons, up 1.4%. Russia, other CIS nations, and Ukraine collectively produced 7.1 million tons, a decline of 3.5%. South America’s output was 3.7 million tons, up 6.5% year-on-year.
