China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited (abbreviated as “China Baowu” or “Baowu”) is a key state-owned enterprise directly administered by the central government and the world’s largest and most influential steel conglomerate, headquartered in Shanghai.

In 2020, China Baowu was designated by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council as a “Demonstration Enterprise for Building World-Class Standards” among central enterprises. By 2022, it became a state-owned capital investment company and initiated its role as the “chain leader” in constructing a modern, low-carbon metallurgical industrial chain.

In November 2024, China Baowu was recognized by SASAC and the China Enterprise Confederation (CEC) as one of 10 central enterprises entering the “World-Class Enterprise Cohort”, affirming its global competitiveness.
